I'm not very popular!! - Warney

Last updated : 15 July 2010 By Duke

Warne, in his second spell with the Millers as a player, took up fitness duties with the club last season after former manager Mark Robins left the club to join Barnsley, taking most of the back-room staff with him.

When Ronnie Moore arrived as manager he was happy for Warne to continue in the job, Warne spoke to the Official Site on how pre-season training has gone.

"Pre-season training is going well,"  he said.

"Andy Liddell is helping me out and we've based it on what we did last season and some of the things I've done throughout my career. We've got a smaller squad this season and that makes it a bit tricky, but the lads are training well."

Liddell was released from the playing staff last month but is helping the club in a coaching capacity.

"We've come back quite late because of the play-offs but by this time next week I expect the lads to be flying," Warne added.

"They've worked really hard and done a lot of track work so I'm not very popular in the dressing room but hopefully they'll be fit and ready for the season."
