Mark Burchill tells todays 'Tiser he's pleased to be back with the Millers and is hoping to win things this season.

"I'm delighted to come back. I know Mark Robins well because I played alongside him briefly at Sheffield Wednesday and when I heard he was interested it helped make up my mind."

"I've played for a lot of clubs but I've had a lot of problems with injuries and I see this as a fresh start. I'm ambitious. I'm not one to sit on my bum. I want to play and I want to achieve." he added.

"There are only 12 teams in the SPL. I've played in front of some massive crowds at Ibrox and Celtic Park but you play the same teams four times a season and it can get a bit repetitive. League Two is new to me with new grounds and new players to play against and I'm looking forward to helping Rotherham win promotion via the play-offs at least. With the squad here, we should be challenging."

The Millers assistant boss John Breckin pleased to have secured the signing of Birchill; "Mark pulled a hamstring and he was never the same after that and had to go back (to Portsmouth). He was a big time player and he'll admit he lost his way a bit but he's got family now and he's more grounded and should do a good job for us. We've been working on this deal for a month and we're delighted to have him. He's very quick and he's a goal scorer. His ratio of one in three is good." he told the 'Tiser
