“I was pretty disappointed with my group today. We started pretty well and had a good chance to go 1-0 up but didn’t take it. They scored from a corner which is inexcusable, we work on that a lot and gave the players a lot of information so that was hugely disappointing."
"We created enough chances to get ourselves back in the game, put enough crosses in the box but put a few behind the goal. We had chances to score from headers five yards out but didn’t take any – we did that three times. They put a cross in the box in the second half and score."
"The last 25 minutes the lads went too long. A few of my team underperformed today which is disappointing.
“I thought both teams started the game quite bright, you could see it was going to be an end-to-end game. If that one that fell to Procs, if that had gone it, goals change games which we all know.
“They didn’t pull us apart, but they’ve come away with two goals and scored enough to get the points.”
Speaking on the challenge which left Jamie Proctor facing a length spell outl “I haven’t got an opinion if it was a foul or not, though I don’t think it was. You could see straight away he was writing in pain and I was hopeful the referee would try and stop it. In fairness to Karl Robinson, he was trying to get his team to kick it out of play. I can’t criticise him and you don’t expect their lad to turn and see how our lad is on the floor."
“We have played really well but today was a disappointment. I knew it would be the hardest game we’ve faced so the first goal would be crucial. I’ve still got a really good squad, but after a performance like that I’m entitled to make a few changes. I’ll freshen the team up and get them ready for the Pompey game.”
