I'd love to play tomorrow - Fenton

And while admitting that the challenge wasn't the best, Fenton says he won the ball. Speaking this week, he said to the 'Tiser: "It wasn't the greatest of tackles. I've seen it and I understand that, It wasn't even in a threatening area because their lad was in his own half.

"I still don't believe I went in over the top though. I went in ferociously and hard but I didn't mean to injure anyone and I still believe I took the ball.

"I just think it was on the issue of intent where the referee disagreed with me."

He added: "I've had to take punishment and I have done but the way the games have fallen with the six called off, it's been unfortunate. " was due back on December 28 but it's now nearly three-quarters the way through January and I'm still not involved. I've been keeping fit and due to the snow I've been in the gym doing fitness work and trying to keep myself ready.

"I'd have loved to have played against Grimsby," he said. "They're struggling and they need results but I want us to get three points to keep them down there and pick us back up after Tuesday."
