I don't ring Fergie - Robins

In an interview in todays Sunday People, the boss looks back at last seasons efforts and gives us the reason why the Millers haven't had any MUFC young loanee as yet.

Robins spoke about the move from Millmoor and Hooton Lodge; "We've had an unbelievable season. In May last year, I got a call from the chairman to say we were leaving Millmoor - it was a bolt from the blue. I asked if we had still got the training ground and he said: 'No, we've lost that as well.'"

"It was a double whammy. But we're on our way to putting down a site for our training ground with an academy and the aim is to get back into Rotherham inside three years." he added.

Robbo is just one of a number of former Man Utd players who have played under Alex Fergusion who are now plying their trade in football management; "I don't ring Fergie - I left United in 1992, a very long time ago. I see him now and again, but very infrequently. A lot of others pick up the phone and speak to him, but I don't. I try to get on with it and do it my way, and if I need advice, I've got more than enough around me from my staff." Robins said.

"I'm sure he'd be happy to help but I haven't asked. I let him get on with his job ... I suspect he has more to cope with than me!"

"We only found out about the points deduction on the eve of the season and we were expecting 30 points like Luton, so to get 17 was more of a relief than anything. The club was starting to come undone and it was hard, but there was never a time I thought of jumping ship."

"We started with our backs to the wall and ended up having a really good season. We beat Wolves, who won the Championship, Leicester, who won League One, Leeds, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday - good sides - along the way. From the players' perspectives, they've been overlooked a little bit - they deserve a little bit of recognition. "

"When people mention teams who had points penalties, we get omitted from it because they look at the league table and forget. Next season will be a level playing field. We've got to make sure we're ready for everything they throw at us."
