Hudson - I'd like to be here next season

Hudson (28) is out of contract this summer, and tells todays Advertiser that he would like to stay and have a point deduction free seasion and push for promotion.

"I'd like to stay, I'm coming up to the end of my two years and hopefully the club will come come into negotiation with me and open contract talks. There's a good set of lads here."

"I'd usually played my football in the league above before coming to Rotherham and I came here to win promotion but due to one thing and another, it hasn't happened. Circumstances with the ten points in the first season shattered us at a time when we were in the play-off positions. Morale dropped so low after that."

"We've shown in glimpses this year that we're a good side and it's a shame that the loss of 17 points means we are where we are. If they were added on and had we won our games in hand then we'd be in and around the top three. We've just got to be optimistic and keep plugging away and finish as high as we can, but I'd definitely like to be part of the set-up here next season."

Mark then looked back at Monday nights 0-0 bore draw at Wycombe; "It wasn't pretty, I know it was on Sky but in our situation we need to get points on the board and if that means going to Wycombe to shut up shop then we've got to do that."

"The manager was pleased but, like he said in the dressing room, this year is all about points. He's as ambitious as we are. He wants to challenge the likes of Wycombe. Next year we want to be up there and we'll go and attack away from home."

"Big Drewe Broughton made a difference when he came on in the second half but we needed something a bit special in the final third. The ball was coming back a bit too easy when it went up there."

"There's a defensive platform to build from here and we've kept a clean sheet in the last three league games. Sharpy and Fenners did a great job on Monday but it's just the final third where we need to work on things, such as getting the midfields and forwards linking."
