Henderson pleased with debut as Alf racks up 50

On an evening where Henderson made his debut after joining from Watford on loan, he teed up Le Fondre's 50th goal for the Millers in stoppage time to seal the 2-0 win, leaving both players happy.

Henderson reflected on the days events after playing for Watford's reserves the night before. He said: "Unfortunately, I couldn't score but I'll take the two assists and it's great to get off to a winning start.

"We got a lucky break after I was fouled and Omar Daley put it away. But, had he not scored I think there might have been a few discussions with the referee.

"It was a bit of an unbelievable day - I drove up, got some sleep  then to get a victory you can't go wrong! I signed the papers down at Watford at half past nine and then set straight off up here to the hotel to get my head down. Then I came straight to the ground."

Liam added: "I've always kept an eye on Rotherham, particularly because of Le Fondre because he scores goals for fun. They aren't at the top end of the table for no reason. I am more than happy to come here and help them push for promotion. My contract with Watford is up at the end of the season so hopefully I'll come here and do a good job and either get rewarded with a new contract at Watford or move on to new pastures."

On a night where Alf netted his 50th goal for the club, he himself spoke of his delight to the official site.

"It's a great feeling to have hit fifty goals in such a short space of time. I don't set personal targets but pride myself on being in the right place, at the right time and my goal record hopefully speaks for itself. I am focused on doing my best for this club, my team-mates and the fans.

"As a group we all believe that promotion is there for us this year and we are confident that we can go all the way."
