As we reported at the weekend, 25 year-old Logan agreed a six month loan with the club on Saturday and will join from Leicester to fight for the number one jersey with Jamie Annerson, with Andy Warrington seemingly being pushed out of the picture.

With Logan expected to be signing number eight of the close season, Annerson himself spoke with his thoughts ahead of the new campaign. "Our home form has to be better", he told the Star. "We conceded a lot of sloppy goals in the games that we were winning last year and we need to start cutting those mistakes out.

“We need to be more selfish and turn those draws into wins. In the periods of games where we are on top and dominating, we need to start taking the chances that we create and make them count."

With the need for more goals to take the pressure off star striker Adam Le Fondre, Logan's arrival at the other end signals stronger competition at the back with the missing piece of the jigsaw now likely to be filled by a ninth arrival to compete for the left back spot with Tom Newey.

Rumour this morning links boss Andy Scott with Posh full back Griffiths, 25, who made 32 appearances last year on loan at rivals Chesterfield, playing twice against the Millers.

Gaffer Scott's recruitment drive to push for promotion in his first year has been backed by his new coaching team as the players have been put through their paces with testing fitness drills during the first week of training.
