Garner was subbed by caretaker manager on the hour mark of Saturdays game. Garner was booed off the field after putting in a very poor performance, and 'waved' to the crowd during his walk off the pitch.

However it is what happened after which has caused much fury with Rotherham fans, as he walked down the sidelines, he first appeared to snub the hand of Alan Knill and then gave the Rotherham fans the V sign as he walked to the tunnel.

This is not the first time Garner has had a spat with the fans either.

Today the FA have charged him with Improper Conduct, and he has until 6pm tomorrow to plead.

If found guilty Garner could be faced with a fine, suspension or both.

The hearing will be on Febuary 16th, in Birmingham
