Forest fail with Pollitt bid.

Forest have just sold thier 2 most valuable players Andy Reid and Michael Dawson to Tottenham Hotspur for a combined fee of £8million and have recieved just over half of that up front so they have a bit of money to spend.

Today they offered what the board call a derisory bid, thought to be less than £100k for the Millers number 1.

Pollit 32, has played in total 286 games for the Millers in two spells and was touted as the best keeper outside of the premiership by former manager Ronnie Moore.

The Millers chairman Peter Ruchniewicz yesterday told that there would be no further senior player sales after leftback Robbie Stockdale was allowed to leave to go to Hull City who have signed him on an 18 month deal.

Saving against Forest
Meanwhile Pollit told the Rotherham Star that the players are sticking together for the new management team of Alan Knill & Mark Robins, "We've all had a chat in training and decided there's still a job to do and it needs doing, we are sticking together until the bitter end"

"We've got a job to do here, no-one is going anywhere and Robbie going to Hull was just a coincidence," he added.

With the Millers facing Forest on Saturday, the intrest in Pollitt will be unwanted and unhelpful in the teams preperation for the relegation battle.
