Five turned us down last week including Clarke - Moore

Moore made a move for Huddersfield's Nathan Clarke (below) last Thursday but the player wasn't willing to come, and the Millers manager says he's had more rejections.

clarkebigHe told the press over the weekend: "We definitely need to do something. Whether its a young kid or not. We can't trust Cressies back because if he comes back and his back is alright and then it goes again and the deadlines gone we're in trouble.

"With Fenners having a little problem with his calf we've got to definitely bring one in."

Moore has until Thursday to seek cover when the loan deadline shuts and employed Johnny Mullins at centre back with a struggling Fenton at Crewe with only Luke Ashworth as fit cover.

Moore continued about the interest in Clarke: "We've asked about him and he doesn't want to come, which I find astounding because he's third choice there and not getting a game.

"Lee Clark the Manager's fantastic but he can't force the boy do something he doesn't want to do - I don't know if he's waiting for Real Madrid to come in but he'll have a long wait!.

"We've had five turn us down between last Thursday and Friday but we'll keep knocking."
