24 year old Ben Pringle has been the shining star since the departure of former boss Andy Scott. Speaking to the Advertiser, Steve Evans praises the midfielder for his start to the season.

“The previous manager fell out of love with him but I love him. He knows he is playing for someone who thinks a lot about what he does on and off the pitch. He plays as hard in training as he does in matches; he never stops running and has a great enthusiasm for the game."

Evans then admitted that there had been intrest in Pringle which the Millers had rebuffed; “We had an offer for him and Kari Arnason in August. You don't want to be selling your best players but as a manager you take great satisfaction from that because it shows other people are recognising the good things the boys are doing.”

Looking back at last weekend thumping at Port Vale, Evans said: “Ben was as bad as everyone else at Port Vale for the first 30 minutes but it was no coincidence that when he gets on the ball and starts playing then we start playing too.”
