Evans excited by Turgott signing

The young West Ham winger has signed on an initial months youth loan after recently spending time at Colchester, and the gaffer explains why he chose to bring Turgott to the Millers.

“Our fans will like him that is for sure,” said Evans to themillers.co.uk.

“He is a winger, he’s quick, he is skilful and we have hand picked this lad because we think he’ll make a real impact starting games and coming off the bench, he is a player who will excite the fans. He will like to get one-on-one with the full back and use his pace and strength.

“We feel that he brings something to this squad that we needed, and this is a further endorsement that we are not looking at players who are 33 or 34 who are looking for one last swansong,” added Evans.

“We are looking to sign young, hungry and talented individuals who have a bright future in the game and who have points to prove, and here is another example of that.”

Turgott goes straight into the Millers squad for tomorrow's game at Shrewsbury Town.
