End of an Era

After Friday's statement that Ronnie would see the rest of the season out, but then leave, it was fully expected that an earlier parting would happen, otherwise both parties would be in a bad situation.

And today it did. After the board and Ronnie's lawyers agreed a severence deal on Sunday, all what was left to do today was for Ronnie and RUFC to sign the papers and that was that. 8 years of mainly brilliant times were at an end.

Millers Chairman Peter Ruchniewicz told the official
Petrer Ruchniewicz
website "We have agreed an amicable parting of the ways. We are all relieved that we have patched up our differences - it would have been awful to have parted on a sour note - with Ronnie of all people. On behalf of the Club and all of its supporters, the Board wishes to express its appreciation at Ronnie's enormous achievements in gaining successive promotions to the Championship and retaining that status for so long against all the odds."

Talking to Radio Sheffield after the news broke, Ronnie himself admitted that it was a wrench to be leaving Millmoor, "I love it here and I've enjoyed it, but all good things come to an end, I've been very fortunate to have had 8 wonderful years here!. But in football management there's one thing certain is that sometime or another your going to get the sack its as simple as that, but I have to move on and hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back in work somewhere."

What the future hold's for John Brekin remains to be seen and has not been in the media spotlight, but on tonights Football Heaven, Peter Ruchniewicz was asked about Brecks, and he told us that John had asked for some time off to consider his future, which the board have agreed to.

So now the deed is done, although i doubt the dust will settle for a while, MillersMad would like to thank Ronnie Moore for some wonderful memories and times that have given all us Millers great pleasure, and probably massive hangovers the next day, and wish him all the best for the future.
