The 24 year-old's year and a half stint at the Withdean, which also hosts an athletics track around it's pitch, means he arrives at his new club with similar surroundings.

Holroyd told the Star: "It won’t be strange because of the experience of playing at the Withdean and I played at Don Valley twice last season so I know what it’s like.

"I’m just really excited to be joining Rotherham. They’re ambitious and want to get out of the division and I hope to be able help them achieve that", he added.

Meanwhile boss Andy Scott is set to add at least two more faces before the squad checks in for pre-season weigh in's next week.

Scott could be set to follow up interest in Oldham defender Reuben Hazell and Gillingham left back John Nutter whilst Ipswich defender Troy Brown is still rumoured to be penning a contract, with the club also set to announce Jason Taylor's new one year extension.
