Dressing room gloom was a plus - Knill

Knill entered the dressing room at the final whistle to a dejected squad of Millers players, but the boss insists this pleased him no end!

He told the Rotherham Star: "I walk in there afterwards and while I'm delighted with what I've seen out on the pitch the players are down and a bit glum.

"That, to me, says a lot. It says they were disappointed they hadn't won, disappointed to have only drawn with a team everybody fancies for a top-two spot.

"That's an excellent response. They'd every right to feel pleased with the performance but they were a bit down because they hadn't won. That's good really. It shows they are not going to be easily satisfied and I believe it shows we have come a long way and are going the right way.

"Yes, we got in a winning position, but if that had been last season and we'd conceded an equaliser the opposition would have gone on and won. We are more resilient now, and we were at the end of the game after they levelled it. We look now as if we can hold on to a point.

"There's an ethic about the team and I feel we will continue to grow together and to improve. I've always said we've a long old battle ahead and we're up for it".

Knill's men face a trip to Whaddon Road this weekend to take on strugglers Cheltenham, who haven't drawn a single league game this season thus far.
