Defeat hard to take - Cummins

The Millers lost their unbeaten start to the season to a goal in the last minute of the game at Saltergate last week, midfielder Micky Cummings gives his thoughts to the 'Tiser.

"The gaffer encouraged me to get up in attack but there wasn't a lot of quality going forward. I was making runs but the ball was either going out of play or into the goalkeeper's hands."

"A draw would probably have been a fair result. There was no clear cut chances. I had a halfchance and scuffed it wide. It was a horrible way to lose. It was just a long, flung ball into the penalty area. The full-back gambled and made a run it was one of those looping headers. As soon as it left his head you knew it was going in."

"It was a hard one to take and a horrible way to lose. We don't want to feel like that again and it is better we put this behind us, pull our socks up and bounce back this weekend."

Cummins admitted that he has found things difficult since his summer move to the Millers; "You have to get used to new surroundings and it has been difficult to be honest, You can play in the reserves and in training but it's in 90 minutes of first-team action that you really kick on and get your form. You get confidence and you learn in match situations."

"We're playing Rochdale this weekend and they will be there or thereabouts. They play fast football and get in your face." he added.
