Mick Harford had been on the lookout for a keeper as back-up and competition to Gary Montgomery and today the well travelled 28 year old joined on a free transfer. Cutlers former clubs include Crewe, Chester, Aston Villa, Oxford and Swansea.

Neil told the clubs official website: "I am delighted to be here at Rotherham United and I am looking forward to the challenge of trying to get them back into the championship. So it's nice to be with a big club again and last season's relegation hasn't put me off at all. I had a chat with the gaffer and he told me the way he wants the club to go and with the players he has brought in I agree it's a club that is definitely going places. he added.

Cutler does'nt plan to just sit on the bench either. "I am looking forward to the challenge for a first team place, that's one thing about being a goalkeeper, there's always someone else there waiting to take your place. I
have worked hard in pre-season so I am raring to go."

Mick Harford told Radio Sheffield "He's the right age, hes 28 and thats what we need at this time, obviously after losing Mike Pollitt we needed him here."

"He's 6ft 2 and got a lot of presence. When he played with Stoke at this level they won the league so I think its a good addition to our squad."
