Cressy - We have to work on the final ball.

The Swinton born defender was critical of the defending which led the Millers to ship 2 goals.

“They say the result doesn't matter but on a personal level it does. I think we had the best chance in the first half and should have gone 1-0 up. As a centre-half, to concede two goals from set plays is massively disappointing. It should never happen." he said.

“The fitness of the lads looked good and at the end I thought we looked fitter and stronger than they did but it was just the final ball that let us down. We have to work on that before the start of the season."

"We are working on tempo and getting the ball down and playing into the strikers' feet, instead of turning them as often as you see in League Two,"

"Sometimes it will be direct - we're not Barcelona, let's not get carried away. We want to pass the ball but there will be times we have to turn teams, especially if we are under the cosh."

Meanwhile, he is hoping to continue to wear the captains armband again this season.

“I want to be captain for this club again, I did it last season and I think I've more to offer this season. I had a bad injury last season but I've put that behind me now and I'm hoping to push on and play every game this time."

“I think I've got qualities to lead the team and lead the back line and organise them. It's just for the gaffer to see.” he added.
