Contract talks for Reid

The in-form striker won the Powerade player of the month award yesterday; "Reuben has had a great month and contributed with some fine goals. It's not been an easy season for Rotherham, playing at a different ground, but he's been producing the goods week in week out and scoring eight goals in the month is a fantastic achievement." pundit Chris Kamara said of Reid when announcing the winner.

Meanwhile speaking to Radio Sheffield this morning, boss Mark Robins confirmed that he has opened up talks to extend the 20 year olds contract.

Reid still has a year to run on his current contract, but his recent red hot form looks to have pushed Robins into wanting to tie down the exciting youngster onto a longer deal.

"He has improved during what is his first full season of first team action and he has learned a lot but there is still plenty more improvement to come and a lot more to learn," Robins told todays Star.

"Reuben has undoubted ability and has the potential to play higher and provided he works hard and continues to improve then he will do and we hope that it will be with Rotherham United." he added.
