Consistancy is what we need - Holmes

Speaking to todays 'Tiser, the 26 year old winger who has impressed so far spoke about leaving Luton and joining the Millers

"I liked my time at Luton and I like living down south but you have to go where the work is and I was quite happy moving up and settling here for the time I'm here. I was at Sheffield Wednesday, so I know the Yorkshire area quite well, I've just bought a house in Wickersley and I've settled in."

"One of the worst things about being a footballer is that you never know where you're going to be from one season to the next, unless you sign a big deal. You have to move from A to B and take people with you, but it's part and parcel of the job and you've just got to make the most of it." he said.

"Everyone knows League Two is a bit more physical but you can only try your best. Some people only know one way to play and I'm afraid I'm a little bit that way."

"Maybe I need to be a little bit more physical in this league, but it's the same for people like Cough (Coughlan) and Derek Holmes who've played a little bit higher." he added

"As long as we do the physical side then we can start getting the ball on the floor. The pitch at Millmoor is beautiful and if you can't pass on that then I don't know where you can, although I won't mention the one I passed straight out of play last Saturday!"

"We don't want to make excuses, but the lads certainly felt tired in the first half and I certainly wasn't on top of my game. We've got 12 new players who are going to take time to blend in but I think we've done it quite quickly."

"Everyone is going in the same direction and teams are showing us respect. Looking back to last weekend, Chester were really happy with a point but I think we need to look at really killing games when we get in the lead and try and get another goal and maybe look after the ball a little bit better. That's something we're going to have to work on because, like I said, with so many ne"w players you can't expect everything to go like you want straight away.

"It was another point on the board but we need to start picking some wins up consistently."
