Cochrane blow for Knill

Cochrane was seen as an intregual part of the squad and his absence comes as a big blow to Knill, who has moved swiftly in bringing in former Sunderland youngster Martin Woods for tomorrow nights game against Sheffield United.

Cochrane, who arrived from Crewe in the summer, impressed in the two friendly appearances he made but has been advised by a specialist to get the problem cleared up and has subsiquently will be having a minor operation to clear up the cartlidge damage.

Colin Murdock is also out of action after having an injection in a groin problem.
