Casper, who has Monkhouse down as one of his five potential targets, hopes to clinch a deal for the 26 year-old who was released by the Millers after an indifferent spell plagued by injury and poor form.

Interestingly, Chris describes Andy as a battling central midfielder, wonder if the Shakers have previously sent the scouts out?!

Amongst Bury's other targets are Matt Hamshaw and Richie Partridge, previously linked with Rotherham - plus goalkeeper Les Pogliacomi, released by Oldham where he was managed last year by Ronnie Moore.
