Captain Reflects On Frustrating Few Days

The centre-back, who travelled with the Northern Irish squad to Belfast for the victory over Estonia, was disappointed not to feature in his country's first home international friendly win in eight years.

Colin was then left more frustrated as the Millers game with Oldham got caught in the big freeze, he explained to the official site earlier: "If you have a few days off then you expect a hard days training and that's what we've had today, I can't say it was a welcome break last weekend because we need to get the games played.

"It came after I had travelled out with the International squad where I wasn't involved although I wasn't too disappointed about that as I knew some of the younger players were going to be given a chance. So I had a good rest and now we are ready to go again as we look forward to the remaining games. If the postponement had come over the Christmas period we probably would have been happy but at this time of the year we prefer to play, particularly as we wanted to put the disappointment of the Chesterfield game behind us".

He added: "After that defeat hopefully we can put things right at Blackpool this coming weekend."
