Cann dislocated his shoulder during yesterdays training session and will undergo surgery next week leaving him out of action for 4 months.

The clubs physio Dennis Circuit told Millersworld; "Unfortunately Steven Cann dislocated his left shoulder in training, so we finished up in the hospital 2-3 hours yesterday. We will go and see our consultant in Sheffield and I'm sure in the next week or so he will be having surgery to rectify that."

The injury will force manager Mark Robins into the loan market, and he is hoping to have somebody sorted out by the end of today and with luck before tonights reserve game against Sheffield United (KO 7pm Millmoor). Millers youth keeper Mark Oxley will take Cann's place in that game.

"It's most unfortunate for the lad because he had been doing well," Robins told todays Rotherham Star.

"He did it saving a shot, although we don't know if it happened then or when he landed." he added.
