The winger, who joined the Millers from Charlton Athletic in November of last year has made only 27 starts for Rotherham and has been unhappy for a while. Boss Mick Harford has stated that Campbell-Ryce will only be allowed to leave providing the club receive an offer of "true value for his ability".

Speaking to the club's official site (www.themillers.co.uk) Harford said: "We are obviously disappointed at this request. He indicated during the summer that he was unhappy and I spoke to him to ask him to give it a period of time before he took any further action. Unless we receive what we consider to be the true value for his ability, Jamal will have to remain with us. Should a bid be received we will be looking for a substantial fee in view of the fact that he has two years to run on his contract with us."

Campbell-Ryce Craves Millmoor Exit

Campbell Ryce, who is 22 years old, has recently lost his place in the starting XI following an injury and impressive form by John Mullin and this action will shock many Millers fans who had predicted JCR to be the shining light in the team this season.

The former Chesterfield loanee has indicated that his family have put pressure on him to return to his native Lambeth and today's events may alert Crystal Palace and Ipswich who were linked with a move for him in the summer. However, with less than 48 hours until the transfer dealine, Campbell-Ryce may well have to wait until the new year before he can get a move away.
