Burton Join Millers Ranks

The Jamaican international, who represented his country in the 1998 World Cup has signed for two years after rejecting a deal with Brentford where he finished top scorer for the London club last season.

The 29 year old has Premiership experience and has als commanded a £1 million transfer fee when Derby County bought him from Portsmouth. He passed a medical at Millmoor at lunchtime today and his signing was announced at teatime.

Mick Harford told the club's official site: "I am sure Deon will be a major asset to this club. He is a good target man who can also hold the ball up well and I am absolutely sure he will do a good job for us."

Burton's signing will ease the fears of Millers fans who were beginning to worry about the size of the squad following Michael Proctor's departure to Hartlepool earlier on today.
