Brown is set to be confirmed as the clubs latest signing and Scott says it will give him options down the right and also at centre back.
"Troy can play right back aswell and with Dale Tonge being there it gives us options", he said.
"In that centre-back position I think we've got enough cover now and I'm not actively looking at that position at the moment. Probably the only position we are struggling with for cover is left-back, in fact, all way down that left-hand side. But that's something we're working on."
Scott also spoke about the injured Johnny Mullins and his progression towards full fitness after his knee operation.
"We`ll be looking at him over pre-season and seeing how he progresses. He should start running in three to four weeks so by the end of pre-season he`s going to be working pretty hard and it'll hopefully push him forward."
