As its the first game, the team that Alan Knill will put out will be drastically different to the one that finished last season, as many of the out of contract players have moved on. In fact only Will Hoskins and Paul Hurst have signed new contracts at Millmoor.

However, many fans feel that Knill has worked a minor miracle to bring so many players to the club given the current situation. Many will be playing this weekend.

Keeps Jersey
Neil Cutler is expected to start the season between the sticks, if he continues the form he showed in the pre-season games then he will take some shifting.

A guess at the back four, I think will line up with: David Worrell, Pablo Mills - who has shaken off groin pulll picked up against Sheffield United, Ian Sharps and Paul Hurst.

In the middle however is a lot harder to guess, however I'm going for Richie Partridge, Eugen Bopp who signed a 1 month contract with the club today (Click Here) Lee Williamson and Michael Keane.

Hibbert - set to start?
Up front, I'm plumping for Will Hoskins and Dave Hibbert

That said, Alan Knill's a better manager than me, so that lot could well be changed come 3pm on Saturday.

Brighton have lost a few players over the summer, but have just signed West Ham's Tony Stokes and Kieth Lowe from Wolves.

Bob from sister site BrightonMAD reckons that Mark McGhee will put out the following lineup:

  • Kuipers or Henderson
  • Hart, El-Abd, Keith Lowe (on loan from Wolves), Lynch
  • Reid, Carpenter, Hammond, Frutos
  • Kazim-Richards, Revell
