Robins, who has been in charge for the last 6 games in a caretaker capacity was confirmed as the new manager at a press conference this afternoon and the former striker was a content man. " I'm delighted, it's an honour and privilege to take charge and I'm pleased the board have shown faith in me. The calibre of candidates were very good and I am pleased to have come out ahead of them".

With a one year rolling contract Robins spoke of the limited success he has already had and the challenge that lies ahead. "It's started ok for me, I am pleased with the players' response, players that were in a team that had gone 18 matches without a win. I like challenges and this is a massive challenge and one I look forward to. Once I get the number two in I'm looking forward to an exciting job."

Despite this being his first role in management, Robins has set his ambitions high for the team. "The ultimate goal will be to get back where we had success on the pitch when I was here as a player. We hope to do it in the right way with the right players and a good structure. If I get a fraction of the success that Ronnie Moore had I'll be delighted"
