Bill looks to beat the freeze

With temperatures set to stay near freezing this week, Corby already has a huge plastic sheet covering much of the Railway End half of Millmoor - and actually insists that if Saturday's game at Bradford had been scheduled as a home fixture for Rotherham then there would have been no problems to get the game on.

The team trained on the pitch on Saturday afternoon as two pitch inspections at Valley Parade saw the freeze put paid to the Yorkshire derby, and financial implications to the Millers would be severe if this weekend's game also falls foul to the conditions, with the possibility of no gate income from December 8th to New Years Day.

Gaffer Mark Robins told the Star: "There wasn't a problem on Saturday when we trained after news came through that the Bradford game was off.

"A lot can happen in a week, of course, but we certainly want to play and will be doing all we can to ensure the game (against Wrexham) does go ahead."

The Millers stay in fifth place after the weekend's results in League Two, just a victory behind second placed Hereford.
