'Big step forward' as stadium plans submitted.

Chairman Tony Stewart this week submitted the clubs application for planning permission for the clubs new stadium, after spending the last 5 months of displaying plans, having talks and site surveys, Tony Stewart is now hopeful that work could start on the site in readiness to take the club back to Rotherham for the 2012/13 season.

"This week has been another big step forward as we look to move back into Rotherham within the next two years. We are convinced that the old Guest and Chrimes foundry is the perfect location. The site ticks all the relevant boxes and I am very excited to put forward the plans that have taken months of hard work and effort to put together." Tony told todays Advertiser.

"We have still work to do but we are moving closer and closer to having something very special that not only the whole town can be proud of but which will benefit the wider community too." he added.

Meanwhile, the Millers aim of training back in Rotherham full time have taken a step forward as the former Roundwood Sports ground has been transformed, turning the old cricket pitch into 2 full size football pitches.
