Ashworth signs on a one year deal

The 20 year-old joins from the London club on a free transfer with the option to extend his contract if he impresses, after being paid up at Brisbane Road with a year left on his contract,

Boss Ronnie Moore, as first reported on MillersMAD this week, targeted Ashworth who is seen as having a very bright future.

Luke, a former trainee at Wigan, is a tall centre half and was keen to move closer to his home town of Bolton, telling the clubs official website: "I am delighted to be here and thank Ronnie Moore for giving me a chance to move back closer to home.

"I am looking forward to meeting the lads for pre-season training and I'm optimistic about the seaason ahead."
