Alfie prays for a change in fortunes

The 22 year-old signed from Rochdale in the summer and despite undergoing a change of manager, has hit 11 goals in 15 games this season.

However with the goals drying up a little of late, Le Fondre was happy to get a bit of luck for the Millers opener in their victory at Wealdstone.

"How many times do you hear a striker say 'it doesn't matter if it goes in off your backside' – well this one was near enough for me but, most importantly, it went in," said Le Fondre speaking to Radio Sheffield.

."It's nice to be back on the scoresheet again but the important thing was the win and getting through to the next round.

" I signed after Mark Robins sold the club to me but I'm now just looking forward to scoring goals for Ronnie. He spoke to me before the game Sunday and that helped alot.

"The team and me personally made it harder than it should have been and I was as guilty as anyone with some selfish play, cutting inside and going for glory near the end when I should have run the ball into the corners.

"Hopefully though that bit of luck for my goal will get me kick started again, I missed a couple of sitters at Bury and the luck evades you sometimes but now I just want to get back scoring regularly and get Rotherham promoted," added Alf.
