Alfie going nowhere as Pope and Taylor await X-rays

Alfie netted four and his first hat trick for the club in the 6-4 win, and Moore said that was the best he's seen him play.

'That's the best I`ve seen him in an all round game. He's worked, he's chased, he's harried and he's put the ball in the back of the net" said Moore to Radio Sheffield.

"He was fantastic. I've told him that even if he keeps working he will still get the goals and some of his goals were fantastic today.

"We've got a Chairman who doesn't need the money so I'm not worried about the scouts watching, unless someone's daft and wants to come in and give us a few bob, then Alf won't be going anywhere. He's contracted here and hopefully he can get us out of this division.

pope big 1"So far we haven't had one offer for Alf which I find astounding. I hope it stays like that becase there's a shortage of quality strikers and he certainly is that."

Moore also added that his other main strikers are progressing well in the battle for fitness after the transfer speculation of his son Ian and Plymouth forward Rory Fallon recently.

"Popey and Tayles are set for their X-rays soon, all being well they could be back training in the next two weeks," said the manager.
