Alf was unplayable

With the transfer deadline day looming, Alfie's 4 goal haul will no doubt have upped his price for any interested parties that were watching the Millers 10 goal thriller on Saturday.

And speaking to the Star today, his boss Ronnie Moore was full of praise for the 23 year old; "That's the best I've seen from him in terms of an all-round game and he has worked hard and got his rewards, Alf has it in his mind that you don't have to work too hard but I tell him that Ian Rush used to run all over and scored loads of goals and it didn't do Wayne Rooney any harm last season." Moore said

"There's bound to be speculation when someone is scoring goals but it doesn't affect him at all. He's a confident guy who doesn't mope if he misses a chance. He'll just look for the next shot or chance and that's why he'll always score." he added.

With the vultures circling, Ronnie is hoping to keep the star striker at the club, dismissing any rumoured moves; "He's not going anywhere; he's contracted here and, hopefully, his goals will help get us out of this division, We've never had one offer, which I find astonishing, but I'm not worried if we do. The chairman doesn't have to sell and, unless it's silly money, there's no way he's going."
