Ainsworth joins the Shots for 2 months although the Millers have a recall option after 28 days.

He has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since October and is now ready for first team action, but is unable to force his way into the Millers first team yet.

Speaking to the clubs official website themillers.co.uk gaffer Steve Evans said; “Lionel has gone to get some first-team competitive action and that really is the sole reason why I have sanctioned the loan deal, he certainly has a future with the Millers, The lad is now desperate to be playing and I have listened to his request for that to happen.”

“The lad has now played a number of reserve games and is more than ready for first-team action, I trust his time at Aldershot will give him that and he will return here at what will be a critical time in the season. Dean Holdsworth tells me he will go into their squad for their match with Northampton Town tomorrow night, and of course he is available for them in the FA Cup should the manager wish him to be involved.” he added.
