The former Carlisle man is set to continue in goal for tomorrows game at home to Colchester, and spoke to the Advertiser this week.

Collin said: “It has been frustrating because it's almost 12 months now since I lost my place at Carlisle. I left there and knew I was coming here as number two to Scott but I've pushed him all the way and the manager has given me my chance.

“Until Tranmere, I'd not played a League One game for seven months or so, so it's nice to get back in the team and make a few saves and get the confidence back up and get back to where I was. I played 150 games on the bounce at Carlisle and it's frustrating not to play, especially at my age. I'm 28 and coming into my goalkeeping prime, if you like, and you want to be out there regularly.

“A lot of League One clubs run with an experienced and a less experienced goalkeeper, whereas here we have two who have played plenty of games. It's healthy competition and if you aren't on form, you know your place is under threat, and vice versa with Scott.”

Boss Steve Evans added. “Adam came here to compete and he's got his chance and he has to take it. I signed him because he's a good goalkeeper, not because he's a nugget. Scott is a good goalkeeper too and I dropped him when we were at Crawley as well, it happens. You have to perform and Adam Collin did his job last Saturday.”
