"We could prove we'd be in the playoffs with the 17 added on but I'm greedy. I want us to show that we'd have gone up automatically.
"The players have done superbly well so far but there's plenty more to play for, both for those in the team and those waiting on the sidelines to get in. With suspensions and injuries, they'll get their chance to be involved in pushing us on.
"I've watched a re-run of our goalless draw at Wycombe on Monday and it was a better defensive performance than I thought at the time," he said.
"Wycombe have only conceded 20 goals in the league whereas we've conceded 28 but 11 of those came in three games against Barnet, Gillingham and Grimsby.
"We've some very capable players here and I want a final points tally that's testament to how well we've done."
Ahead of tomorrow's match at Sincil Bank and next Tuesday's home game with Morecambe, he added: "Morecambe have had some really good results of late and their manager, Sammy McIlroy, is a great football man. He's done unbelievably well there.
"These are two tough ones for us starting tomorrow, Lincoln are a good side and we've got to stay focused."
