Footymad previewHistory of the Lincoln City v Rotherham United fixture

Rotherham United face a trip to Lincoln City at Sincil Bank Stadium on Friday evening, having the edge over their hosts in previous meetings. The visitors have won 17 of the 44 previous games, with the hosts winning 16.

The most recent encounter between these two sides was just last season, in February with Rotherham inflicting a narrow 2-1 defeat upon the Imps in a League Two match.

After the sacking of Ronnie Moore during the week, caretaker boss Andy Liddell takes charge of the team for the first time.

Lincoln City have only performed averagely at home, winning 3 and losing 2 of their last six. The Imps's have scored 8 goals in these games, but conceded 9.

The away form of the Millers accumulates just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. While they've hit 8 goals, a poor tally of 15 have hit the back of the wrong net including 5 last week at leaders Chesterfield.

Team News..
Andy Liddell, assisted by Paul Warne, are likely to make changes to the side that lost last week at Chesterfield.

Tom Newey returns after suspension and may come in at left back, whilst Danny Coid has returned to Blackpool. Dale Tonge could fill in at right back or Johnny Mullins may switch positions to allow Nick Fenton to return in the centre and partner Ryan Cresswell.

Meanwhile Jamie Green has been recalled from his loan spell at Boston United.

There are no other injury problems in midfield or upfront.

Lincoln boss Steve Tilson is without captain and former Miller Delroy Facey who is absent injured, and faces a dilemma with his goalkeeping situation after Trevor Carson was recalled from his loan by Sunderland.

Coach Paul Musselwhite is the only fit keeper on their books at 42 years of age but Tilson has since managed to beat the loan deadline by signing Aston Villa youngster Elliott Parish on a youth loan until the end of the season as cover.
