Footymad previewHistory of the Chesterfield v Rotherham United fixture

Rotherham United face their first trip to Chesterfield's B2Net Stadium on Friday evening having come away with little in previous meetings down the years at Saltergate until recently, having been beaten a depressing 22 out of 32 times.

The most recent encounter between these two sides in Derbyshire was just last season, in January, with Tom Pope's last minute strike inflicting a narrow 0-1 defeat upon the Spireites in a League Two match.

Tomorrow night's game sees a sell out crowd and the live cameras packed into the stadium as the Millers push for the points to close the gap on their hosts, who sit top of the tree, and the top three promotion spots.

Early this season the Millers nicked a 1-0 win at Don Valley in the corresponding fixture and have won the last four games between the sides at all venues.

Recent respective form guides

Chesterfield have been playing quite well at home, winning 3, drawing 2, and losing just 1. A total of 11 goals have been scored by the Spireites in those games, with 8 conceded.

The away form of Rotherham United is pretty dire, accumulating just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. While The Millers have hit 8 goals, 11 have hit the back of the wrong net.

Team News..
Rotherham centre-back Nick Fenton (knock) and midfielder Mark Randall (hamstring should be fit to return. Dale Tonge or Johnny Mullins are set to fill in for Danny Coid at right back.

Tom Newey faces the final game of three match suspension so Callum Kennedy continues at left back.

Chesterfield have no new injury problems or suspensions following their 2-0 defeat by Crewe last weekend. Veteran striker Jack Lester, defender and ex-Miller Ian Breckin and midfielders Mark Allott and Dwayne Mattis could all return for the League Two leaders. (BBC Sport)
