Slightly later breakfast

The 11am kick off allowed the Millers to have a nice long rest in the morning and ensure all weary heads from the night before had disappeared. The breakfast was as good the day before and the majority of the players were looking fit and ready to go. Unfortunately a certain Mr Yeardly caught too much sun and was suffering sun stroke like effects. There is no beating the effects of sun stroke and yee old Yeard box had to travel home leaving IMFC slightly light in defensive cover.

Gaz Elliott’s eyes were starting to get much better which was a big boost to the squad and in general the squad avoided any major injuries from the first days group stages. There was the odd bad bruise and sore limb but nothing completely debilitating.

Overconfidence?

Traveling down to Bodington hall there was a real confident sense of making at least the ¼ finals. The draw had been kind and the players fancied their chances against Lincoln and then the winner of the Gillingham/Darlington match. There is nothing wrong with being confident but what was about to happen really shook the Millers up and in hindsight gave us all a real kick up the backside for the remainder of the tournament.
