Beer Trail

Anticipation was high with hopes of “smashing” up Scunny in the morning and then sealing cup qualification with a big win against Crewe.

Once everyone was ready we all headed out to Headingley Taps which is a superb boozer right on the corner of the main street. A couple of pints were taken in and we saw the entire Swindon squad on a table near us. They knocked us out last year in the last 16 and once again appeared to have a large strong squad at the tournament. Would our paths cross once again this year?

Burnsy led us on to a quaint little real ale pub called Arcadia that had a massive variety of beer and lager for sale. It wasn’t cheap but for the more refined beer drinkers it was a pleasure to take in a few really good pints of ale, not sure it was everyone’s cup of tea though as the lager crew couldn’t get a good pint of Carling! People were starting to get a little drunk by now even though they were making an effort not to drink TOO much.

While some stayed on for one more drink in Arcadia others headed up to the Royal Oak which is where we had a long session last year. Unfortunately some of our younger members didn’t get in so the group split up once more as a few headed straight to the Sky Rack.

After finishing up drinks in arcadia the first group met those who went into the Royal Oak for a very quick pint before closing. Everyone then met back up in the Sky Rack which was open for another hour or so.
